It's 0130. Back to work for me. This has been a busy week, once again.
Monday, was mom and dads big moving day. The moving people, along with my brothers, niece, and my dad, brought all their belongings and moved it into the 'new' house. What an awesome display of support-church friends cleaned the house during the day, fixed up the yard, and helped with moving in. We had supper at the house in the evening, and then mom and dad went to their trailer at the farm for one more night. Tuesday, I got to go to work for an 8 hour day, while others helped organize the house enough for my parents to stay there. I took my mom to help her buy a new washer and dryer. They even delivered and set up the appliances immediatley! Then I went home and did some housework, yard work, etc.... Wednesday, I spent most of it at home. Cut some of my lakefront property. Del has been spending his weekend and evening hours pumping water across the road into the ditch, trying to get some of the water off the lawn. So I cut patterns in the grass, trying to get as much cut as possible. Talk about a lot of hay!! Even got the garden hoed, (yes, it's my moms), laundry is done, BBQ-d supper, uncovered the kitchen counter and the dining table. Thursday, I was the official chauffeur for my moms appts. She started in the morning by seeing the local GP, who will be the go to guy for whatever is needed. Then we had a quick lunch and headed to the city to see the respiratory specialist. First mom was assessed by the resident, and then she was seen by the 'top' guy. So he presented us with options, actually, he had one option. And we are going with his option. Mom is booked for a procedure on the 30th, to remove the fluid around her left lung, and then they will try to seal that area so it will not absorb fluid again. This will require a one night stay in hospital should it work according to plan. This has an effective rate of 70%. This should alleviate some of her shortness of breath. She will be getting two scans in the near future, one on her brain, and one of her bones. These are common areas for cancer to spread to, and need to be checked to see if they're affected at all. Looks like an oncology appt the first days of July with chemo to follow shortly thereafter. So, after this appt, mom had her bld work done, EKG, and then we were out of there. Mom & I did some grocery shopping, while dad napped and read in the car. We met my sister for a abit at the hospital, which was a nice way to sum up the medical part of the day. After shopping we came home. Mom was so happy when she got to the house and she seen how Laureen and Michelle had cleaned out the spare room, which was now ready for company. The main floor was now liveable!! I got home at 930. Such a whopper of a headache by this time. Advil!!! I should own shares in the ibuprofen/acetaminophen companies! Friday, I spent time on the phone in the morning, worked with laundry, kitchen stuff, and then I made an anniversary party celebration note. Sent out some emails regarding this. The family has decided to cancel the public celebration due to moms desire to focus on treatment and not have to worry about effects of treatment, and how that would effect the party attendance for her. Need to get these notes in the mail on Monday! Went to school to check out the fun day the kids were having. the PAC did lunch and organized Scoop a Lot orders. They had it all done by the time I got there. They're an awesome group! Chatted with some teachers. I'm really gonna miss the staff when Kyle is done in that school after next year. They're a wonderful bunch of educators!
So, I got home, had a 1/2 hour nap, got up and di dsome yardwork, ..........went to work for a 12 hr night. And now, my eyes are so tired!!!!! What I would do to go to sleep!
The kids are almost done school. Jayde has one more day,and Kyle has all of next week. They were busy doing yard work when I left tonight, and they're supposed to get it done by tomorrow afternoon. Cut and swept. All that hay has got to get off the grass or it will die due to lack of light!
Tomorrow will be another good day. Kyle's team is having wind up in the city, but we are opting out this time. Too many things going on. TAking one day at a time, sometimes its an hour at a time. Minute.....
One of my nieces graduated tonight. Apparently she walked off with a bunch of awards. Congratulations,Katelyn! Another niece is graduating next week; Congratulations Jessica. Another niece, Bethany, is being baptized on Sunday. Way to go, Beth! Exciting times for this family.
So, my focus now is to maintain sanity, spend time with my family, get my parents where they need to go, work my shifts, and look forward to some camping time with my hubby and kids, and look forward to a Friesen get together in July. Got to have something to look forward to, to get through.
Have a great weekend!
