What a day this has been!!! I'm in no mood for celebrating St. Patty's day , as my sister called it this morning. I have completed 4, 12 hour shifts, and I should be be celebrating. But, instead, its been one of those days. Ever have one of those days where trouble just happens? Everywhere?? Had a meeting at work today. Oh boy! Three hours later, wrapped it up, but it still wasn't 'over'. Busy day with patients. Some better than others. Then, my dad brought my mom to work. She was feeling short of breath. Her ankles were swollen, and couldn't speak a whole sentence without stopping for breath. So, the good old nursy daughter that I am, I changed her meds, added one back into the mix, and told her to go home and pee all afternoon. Which she did. Hopefully she will fell better by tomorrow. Finished work at 715, and 'fly' out to Kyle's game, 15 minutes away. He lost game 2, best of three series, so now they're tied at 1 game each. Jayde's team lost again in overtime, and they are now out of the playoffs, Yes, Del had Jayde and Trent at their hockey game 1 hr 15 min away. Then I'm home 20 minutes this evening, and Del calls-the truck won't start. Can I come get them???? He asks for cell numbers of other parents that were there, and he and I both try to call someone who might have room to take all three of them home. Along with the equipment! Yay, a dad has room. Actually, I don't know how much room he had, but he was kind enough to go back and give Del and the boys a ride. I phoned CAA and made arrangements to have the truck towed to a Ford dealership for repairs tomorrow. Hopefully, its an easy fix.......Now I'm waiting for the phone to ring, to go pick up my family!
Yeah, I'm bitching. Yeah, I'll get over it. Yeah, I'm going to get a good sleep in. I think I'm even going to have a nap tomorrow.
Oh, yeah, I have a grade 12 student putting in 70 hours of job shadowing. I'm really impressed! 14 hours in, and he's fairly independent. A nurse in the making! There is hope in the nursing profession....... :-)
OH, yeah, I had an interesting experience yesterday at work. Got to work with Michelle, and Alyssa came to work to job shadow. Now thats a first. Three of us together. I was so proud of 'my girls'. They are very special, and are both wonderful, compassionate nurses. Oh, to be a new grad!
Feeeling lazy all of a sudden........wonder why....................don't want to lay down.................might never get up again......................gotta keep chewing gum..............................
one more thing.......the Ice dawgs play at home tomorrow night. They are down 2 games to 0 in their series of best of 7. They've been wasted both games-embarrassingly so!!!! Think they'll find some gas somewhere to not be embarrassed again? They keep this up and their playoffs will be over before it really began. It might be my last game with them tomorrow, thats actually a sad thought................suck it up boys!!!!
