Here we are-early Tuesday morning, and Imean early. Like 1 am! The weekend flew by, and Monday was gone too quickly. We spent the weekend back and forth to the city. Monday, the boys didn't have school, so the boys and I slept in. Lucky Del got to go to work. We did some outdoor yard clean up, laundry, baking, cleaning, and such. And then, back to the city. Both boys had practice. I made it back to town for work, (an 8 hr night), while Del came to pick up the boys. Tomorrow the boys will go to school, while I sleep a little, and get ready to take Kyle to practice again, before working tomorrow night.
So I worked 3 shifts last week, and they served as a reminder to me of how precious life is. I think I appreciate most memorable moments, but I realize that you can never appreciate them enough. Moments with friends and family are special, and should never be taken for granted. I know you can't live life morbidly, but we need to make use of each moment we're given. Yeah, obviously I had some rough moments at work. Some days are more like that than others.
I don't want t sound like my mother, but another situation came up last week, that was also a reminder to enjoy the family you have. The tournament that Kyle was in, turned out to be a last minute fund-raiser for a little boy in the city who was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer. Some of the kids on Kyle's team played hockey with this young man during the winter, and now are dealing with having a sick friend. Apparently this young man will be required to go to Vancouver for treatment, and costs will add up quickly for this family, to make this happen. So teams were putting money together for this family, as well as 50/50's and a silent auction were done to help raise funds. Just another reminder to us-love and enjoy your kids.
You know, I can't post too much tonight. It's like my mind is empty after writing the last couple of paragraphs. And I'm too tired to be creative. I better go find another project to work on here. Gotta keep my eyes open and my mind alert!!!
Hope you're all enjoying your beds!
